Over Three Decades
Mud Buddy Manufacturing is located near the Great Salt Lake in Utah where endless shallow water marshes grow vast amounts of waterfowl for the pacific flyway. The company was founded by Glenn Foreman in June 1994 with a goal to provide higher quality, higher horsepower shallow water motors for sportsmen who desire the quality, superior fit and finish and great customer service. Today, Mud Buddy is the world’s largest mud motor company with more Longtail and Short Tail Surface Drive Mud Motors than all other mud motor companies combined.
Meet Our Founder
Glenn D. Foreman
Glenn is retired from the U.S. Army and the Department of Interior. He is an accomplished inventor, engineer, big game hunter and staunch supporter of the NRA and all wildlife conservation organizations. Although semi-retired today, Glenn continues to head up product research and development for Mud Buddy and Arkmos Engineering in Utah and the Excel Boat Company with factories located in Arkansas and Tennessee.

I have at 2016 37 hdr. Boat went down in 14 feet of water, when my motor had less than 10 hours on it. Pulled it back up after being in the water for 4-1/2 hours. I have a Mud buddy 37 hdr for two years. Where I live doesn't have a lot of mud in the rivers just shallow and sand. Best investment I have ever made. Not having to worry about hitting stumps and losing a lower end or trying to stay in the channel. During the low times of the year, I have the river to myself. Great product, excellent customer service.

I have great service and experience with Mud Buddy. I own the Hyper Drive with reverse and it is almost like an outboard but goes in the muddy areas for my duck hunting. Lots of power and always starts right up and goes. Very pleased with this motor.
